For many Black women, the relationship with our hair, beauty and identity carries stories that go far beyond appearance. It can influence how we feel, how we are perceived and even how we allow ourselves to take up space.

I am the founder of Rich Roots Dialogue and the creator of Crown Work, a transformative approach designed to help Black women reconnect their outer appearance with their inner sense of self.

My work sits at the intersection of hair care education, self-identity, cultural healing, emotional wellbeing and beauty standards.

Through lived experience, cultural insight and storytelling, I explore the deeper relationship Black women have with their hair and appearance—and what that relationship can reveal about the beliefs and experiences shaping our self-perception.

I do not believe self-love is simply about looking in the mirror and feeling good about yourself.

Sometimes, the deeper work is asking: Where did I learn to see myself this way? What beliefs have I inherited? And what would it look like to build an identity rooted in self-awareness, self-respect and authentic belonging?

That is the heart of Crown Work.

What I’ll Be Exploring at the Summit

During my masterclass, we will go beyond surface-level conversations about confidence and beauty.

We will explore how Black women’s hair and identity can intersect with self-perception, emotional wellbeing and the way we show up in our personal and professional lives.

You will gain a deeper understanding of the stories and beliefs that can influence your relationship with yourself—and practical ways to begin examining those patterns.

This is not about performing confidence.

It is about developing the self-awareness to understand who you are, honour your story and show up from a place of genuine self-respect.
